Higher Ground is a resource center in Tucson, AZ that aims to support the community through a range of products and services. Their story began in Jansen's living room, where he started tutoring his wife Barbie's 10-year-old son, Timmy, who was struggling in school. As Timmy invited his friends over, Jansen realized that many of them were also facing academic challenges and had experienced trauma in their lives. Inspired by his own upbringing in poverty and an abusive home, Jansen wanted to provide these young individuals with hope and the opportunity to succeed. Higher Ground offers a variety of resources to address the academic and emotional needs of the community. Their Restart SMART program focuses on academic support and helping individuals overcome trauma-related barriers to success. They also provide access to the David Bradley Wellness Center, BeMapt App, and Tucson Dojo, which offer a range of tools and programs to enhance well-being and personal growth. Higher Ground's commitment to serving the community is reflected in their mission and supported by their dedicated team and Board of Directors.
