# highlandhistoricalresearch.com - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `highlandhistoricalresearch.com` ## Description The Society of Highland & Island Historical Research is a membership organisation founded in 1972 to encourage research into the history of Scotland’s Highlands and Islands and make that research accessible to the public. With roots in the island of Coll, its interests now span Gaelic Scotland, from St Kilda to Aberdeenshire and Caithness to Galloway. The Society welcomes both professional historians and interested amateurs, bringing together people with a shared interest in the region’s past. Its activities include online lectures, featuring expert speakers and a wide range of relevant historical subjects. Members and visitors can also explore publications, including conference proceedings, articles, and booklets. A key resource is West Highland Notes & Queries, a long-running forum for historical discussion and debate, published continuously for fifty years. The Society’s website provides archive contents lists, useful links, information about conferences, and opportunities to join or donate. Through its research, events, and publications, the organisation supports historical inquiry and helps make knowledge of Highland and Island history available to a wider audience. ## Industries - 🧪 Science and Education - 🧪 History _(under Science and Education)_ ## Links - [facebook](https://facebook.com/highlandhistoricalresearch) ## Logos & icons - logo _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idhnXGxE-5/w/100/h/100/theme/dark/logo.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791307629972) - icon _(primary)_ — PNG — [download](https://cdn.brandfetch.io/idhnXGxE-5/w/1666/h/1666/theme/dark/icon.png?c=1bxid64Mup7aczewSAYMX&t=1791307630435) ## Colors | Name | Hex | Theme | | --- | --- | --- | | Wedgewood | #4f7ea9 | accent | | Kumera | #8f5e25 | dark | | Goldenrod | #ffcb70 | light | ## Fonts - serif — asset _(custom)_ - Source Sans Pro — asset _(google)_ --- _Source: _ _See [/llms.txt](/llms.txt) for a full list of agent-readable pages, and [/auth.md](/auth.md) for how agents authenticate._
