## Description

High Mountain Counseling & Training Institute is a Lakewood, Colorado, mental health counseling and education organization focused on providing high-quality counseling and training while challenging stereotypes about therapists and mental health. Its work aims to help people explore what it means to be human and to increase mental health awareness among children, teachers, schools, and families.

The organization offers counseling services, including Brainspotting and EMDR, as well as an eight-week premarital counseling program. It also provides onsite and virtual trainings, LPCC supervision, and consulting. For people seeking practical learning without a graduate degree in counseling, High Mountain offers classes and on-demand courses on topics such as emotional intelligence, thinking errors, anger, coping skills, and trauma. Training resources include its “the TEACHER therapist” initiative and CBTmadeEZ materials. The organization also shares books, publications, and other educational resources. Its programs are designed for varied audiences and use accessible, interactive approaches to build mental health knowledge and skills.
