## Description

HighSchoolRank is an independent website that brings information on all 23,830 public high schools in the United States together on an interactive map. Users can explore schools by state and county, then open individual profiles featuring enrollment, academics, sports, safety and meal-program ratings, state championships, notable alumni, and community rankings. The site also offers eight national and state leaderboards, downloadable-style state map posters, and two quizzes: one matches visitors with a real school in their county, while the other identifies a high school personality type.

Parents comparing schools and students, alumni, teachers, or other community members researching their own school can use the site’s data and submit a one-to-five-star ranking with comments, without creating an account. Ratings compare schools only with others in the same state and draw on government and other identified sources, including federal education data, the USDA, the CDC, state athletic associations, and school records. HighSchoolRank is not affiliated with schools or government agencies and says schools cannot pay to alter their information.
