## Description

Hiite Maja is a politically and economically independent foundation dedicated to researching, preserving, and promoting Estonia's ancient sacred natural sites and indigenous heritage. Established in 2008, the foundation organizes the international Hiite Photo Competition, curates a comprehensive database and online map of natural sacred sites, and provides guidance to landowners and organizations regarding these culturally significant areas. Hiite Maja also conducts studies, training programs, and awareness initiatives to safeguard these locations from violations.

Notably, the foundation recognizes environmentally responsible initiatives in its commitment to protecting sacred sites. With a dedicated team, including Director Ahto Kaasik and a supportive council, Hiite Maja actively engages in community involvement and advocacy. By shining a light on the beauty and importance of Estonia's natural and cultural heritage, Hiite Maja continues to honor its mission of fostering a deeper appreciation for the land and its history, ensuring these precious sites are respected and preserved for future generations.
