The City of Hillsboro, OR is not your traditional City government. With a financially conservative yet innovative and forward-thinking approach, we are a full-service City that takes pride in serving our residents, businesses, and community partners. Our goal is to provide excellent municipal services and plan for a bright future for Hillsboro.

Under a Council-Manager form of government, the City Council, including the Mayor and six City Council members, is elected by voters. They appoint a City Manager to handle the City's business, while policy decisions are made by the City Council. Our dedicated team consists of 780 full-time employees and 400 part-time/temporary employees.

We have various City Departments, including the City Manager’s Office, Building, Economic Development, Finance, Fire & Rescue, Human Resources, Information Services, Library, Parks and Recreation, Planning, Police, Public Works, and Water. Together with our community partners and residents, we work towards thoughtful planning and the continued growth of Hillsboro. As home to Oregon's largest employer, Intel Corporation, as well as other high-tech leaders and smaller companies, we strive to be a leader in attracting businesses.
