## Description

The Hillside Group is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving human communication about computers by encouraging people to codify common programming and design practices. They offer a wide range of products and services aimed at uplifting the software community through pattern writing. One of their key initiatives is the Pattern Languages of Programming (PLoP) conference series, which follows a highly collaborative style based on shepherding and peer-based feedback workshops. This has led to many successful pattern papers and books being published. The Hillside Group also sponsors various conferences like PLoP, EuroPLoP, UP, ChiliPLoP, Mensore PLoP, KoalaPLoP, and SugarLoafPLoP. They provide an extensive catalog of different patterns, including business process patterns, coding patterns/idioms/style, design patterns, organizational patterns, and technology/language-specific design patterns. Additionally, they offer education, mailing lists, writing tools, and various resources for those interested in patterns. The Hillside Group's vision is to promote a design approach that generates beautiful structures and to empower individuals to tap into their innate ability for design.
