## Description

Hirosaki MOCA is the official brand of 弘前れんが倉庫美術館（Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art）, a creative hub and cultural center in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. With a focus on three core missions, Hirosaki MOCA aims to preserve the memory of architectural heritage, create new spatial experiences, develop new possibilities for the region, revitalize its history, and foster open-mindedness and the sharing of diverse values. One of the unique features of Hirosaki MOCA is its site-specific approach, emphasizing commissioned works that are tailored to the architectural characteristics and local context of the area. These works are exhibited in the museum and eventually become part of its collection, forming a distinct collection unique to Hirosaki. The museum also takes a time-specific approach, utilizing the potential of the brick warehouse to create flexible and dynamic exhibition spaces. This allows for a diverse range of artworks, displayed at different rhythms from short-term to long-term exhibitions. Visit Hirosaki MOCA to explore their thought-provoking exhibitions, participate in engaging events and learning programs, and enjoy the synergy between art and architecture. Experience a cultural journey that connects different cultures, fosters open-mindedness, and celebrates creative expression.
