## Description

Hisøy Historielag is a local history society dedicated to sharing knowledge about Hisøy and making the area’s history accessible to everyone. Through its website, the organization publishes historical information, news, photographs, and material from its archives. Its resources include an archive guide, articles and quizzes on topics such as wartime history and the Kolbjørn ferries, and information about the society’s activities and publications.

The society offers books and booklets about Hisøy, including a publication on the history of Kolbjørn, and produces the annual Hisøy calendar, which is available for purchase locally and through direct contact. It also supports heritage projects, including the Blue Plaques initiative, and provides information about membership, meetings, and member benefits. Members and visitors can explore historical images, browse past calendar editions, and follow new posts by email. Hisøy Historielag’s work is intended to preserve and share local heritage with the wider community, while inviting anyone interested in learning more about Hisøy to take part.
