## Description

Histopolis is a pioneering platform dedicated to collaborative genealogy and history, specifically focusing on the United States and Puerto Rico. Established in 2009, it has served as a free resource for individuals seeking to uncover their family histories and explore the rich narratives of various communities. Histopolis has provided users with tools and a platform to share knowledge, connect with fellow genealogists, and access a wealth of information about ancestors and historical places.

However, after 16 remarkable years of service to the public, Histopolis has announced its retirement, with the site set to go offline on February 11, 2025. This farewell serves as a heartfelt acknowledgment to all who have contributed to and utilized Histopolis as a vital resource. The brand is grateful to its community for the invaluable contributions that have shaped this collaborative space, ensuring that the stories of individuals and locales have been preserved and cherished throughout its operational history.
