## Description

Paisajes Sonoros Históricos is a research and publishing project exploring the soundscapes of the past, approximately from 1200 to 1800. Its website brings together historical maps, city views, itineraries, and scholarly articles to help visitors investigate how music and sound shaped urban life across different places and periods. Entries cover topics such as musicians and performers, cathedral music, religious ceremonies, theatre, street music, and musical networks, with locations ranging from La Coruña and Zamora to Córdoba, Mexico, Goa, and Rome. The project also publishes research on historical documents, musical works, people, and institutions, supported by contributors specializing in music history and related fields. Visitors can browse articles by year, author, title, or place and explore connections between cities through cartographic materials. An AI chat feature allows users to ask questions in natural language and receive answers based on the project’s content, along with links to relevant articles for verification. Paisajes Sonoros Históricos serves researchers and curious readers seeking an accessible, evidence-based guide to historical music and sound.
