Historic Chevy Chase DC is an all-volunteer historical society dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the unique history of our community. Our organization, founded in 1990, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a dedicated 13-member board of directors. We engage in various activities to preserve our community's stories and places, including hosting regular Zoom webinars, conducting a popular Historic Walking Tour of Chevy Chase DC each September, and maintaining a website with a wealth of historical information.

One of our most treasured collections is our archive of over 32 oral histories of current and previous residents, which are available for historical research on our website. We are also actively involved in projects such as bringing to light the racially motivated displacement of African American families in 1928. Our organization is supported by membership dues and donations, and we offer different membership levels for individuals who wish to support our work.
