About

Description

Historic Salisbury Foundation, located in Salisbury, NC, is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and revitalizing the historic fabric of Salisbury and Rowan County. With over 50 years of experience in historic preservation, this foundation was established in response to the imminent demolition of two significant landmarks in the area: the 1820 Dr. Josephus Hall House and the bell tower of the 1892 First Presbyterian Church.

Today, these buildings stand as iconic symbols of Salisbury's rich history. In addition to saving and preserving landmarks, Historic Salisbury Foundation also operates an active revolving fund program, which has saved and restored over 100 historic buildings. The foundation acquires distressed properties, stabilizes them, and sells them to buyers who complete the renovations while adhering to protective covenants.

By choosing historic preservation, Historic Salisbury Foundation aims to maintain the unique character and cultural heritage of Salisbury and Rowan County. Their mission includes education, neighborhood revitalization, advocacy, and the preservation of historic landmarks. Donations to the foundation are tax-deductible, and they receive no tax money for operations.
