## Description

Collectie Overijssel is the public archival organization serving the municipalities of Deventer, Zwolle, Dalfsen, Olst-Wijhe and Zwartewaterland, as well as the Drents-Overijsselse-Delta water authority, the Province of Overijssel and national government services operating in the province. With locations in Deventer and Zwolle, it helps residents explore the region’s history and access government information.

Its collections include archives, photographs and audiovisual materials, library resources, building files and personal records. Visitors can search the collections online, request scans, consult archival documents in the study room, or use the quick scanning service. Collectie Overijssel also provides research guidance and answers to common questions, and accepts donated collections, requests to transfer government archives and loan applications. Open data is available as well.

Through exhibitions, events, news and initiatives such as MijnStadMijnDorp and the Erfgoedplatform Overijssel, the organization connects historical records with the present. Its work supports the public’s right to consult information freely and without barriers, while helping people discover, understand and preserve the heritage of Overijssel.
