## Description

**Historyapolis Project** is dedicated to illuminating the rich and complex history of Minneapolis. With a vision rooted in community-building, this initiative seeks to unearth and share narratives that depict how the city has evolved over time. Established in response to a notable gap in historical resources, the project aims to provide a comprehensive account of Minneapolis, as the last extensive history was published in 1940.

The Historyapolis Project embraces a progressive perspective on the city's past, engaging residents with stories that both entertain and provoke thought. By addressing the often-overlooked darker episodes of Minneapolis's history, the project fosters an environment of reflection and understanding. Notable stories, such as the history of the Persian Palms and the 1869 Tunnel Disaster, highlight significant events that shaped the community.

Encouraging public participation, the project hosts various resources, including timelines and research guides, ensuring a deepened appreciation for Minneapolis’s heritage. Through storytelling, the Historyapolis Project champions a courageous reckoning with the city’s legacy.
