## Description

History of Kurds is a digital resource dedicated to exploring the history, culture, and heritage of the Kurdish people, tracing their story from the ancient Zagros and Medes to modern Kurdistan. Designed for readers, learners, and researchers, the site brings together several ways to investigate the past. Its interactive, zoomable timeline presents key events across approximately 5,000 years, while historical maps illustrate changes in Kurdish lands and dynasties over time. An encyclopedia profiles the kings, warriors, poets, and leaders who shaped Kurdish history, complemented by profiles of the four parts of Kurdistan and their distinctive histories. Visitors can also consult a curated academic bibliography on Kurdish history and culture, and explore material on music, poetry, festivals, crafts, and other living traditions. The site includes a community forum for discussion of history, culture, and research, along with information about its methodology. Content is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0, and the experience is available in English, Kurdish varieties, Turkish, and Persian.
