## Description

The Foundation for the History of Totalitarianism is a non-profit organisation dedicated to providing information and education about totalitarianism, particularly its history in the 20th century. Its work is aimed at helping a new generation explore the people, events and ideas that shaped this period. The Foundation offers a broad collection of educational resources, including articles, book extracts, lectures, videos, podcasts and historical artefacts. Topics featured include the Holodomor, the Nazi-Soviet Pact, fascism and repression in the Soviet Union. Its materials range from expert commentary and reading lists to accounts of historical objects, such as a Polish samizdat edition of Animal Farm. The organisation also runs an essay competition for sixth-form pupils, encouraging deeper study of 20th-century history, and publishes previous winning essays. Additional resources support history learning and teaching. Visitors can subscribe to the Foundation’s mailing list for updates and can donate to help sustain its educational work. Through these resources and activities, the Foundation makes research and historical perspectives accessible to students and the wider public.
