With a strong focus on HIV vaccine research and development, MHRP has gained international recognition through groundbreaking studies like the RV144 Thai trial, the first-ever HIV vaccine study to show modest efficacy in preventing HIV in humans.

This success has allowed MHRP to establish collaborations with top research institutions worldwide. Supported by the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF), MHRP conducts research at sites across Africa and Asia, employing a combination of rigorous science, strategic partnerships, and careful site development.
