## Description

HIWE, or High-skilled Internationals, is a groundbreaking project aimed at enhancing Finland's appeal as a destination for highly skilled professionals. Funded by Business Finland, this innovative collaboration between the University of Eastern Finland and the University of Turku spans from October 2022 to September 2024. HIWE focuses on gathering bottom-up insights from international talent in Finland to better understand their experiences and challenges. Through a series of interviews, the project highlights real-life stories from professionals in diverse fields such as international business, technology, hospitality, and healthcare.

By mapping the ecosystem that supports these individuals and conducting thorough policy analyses, HIWE seeks to align international needs with existing policies. This effort includes a gap analysis to pinpoint areas requiring improvement and promote better integration into the Finnish labor market. Ultimately, HIWE aims to amplify the voices of internationals in policymaking and create a Collaborative Governance Model, fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for skilled talent in Finland.
