## Description

The National Resource for Network Biology (NRNB) advances the science of biological networks through open-source software, analytic tools, visualizations, databases, and computing resources. Its work supports biomedical researchers studying networks that connect genes, proteins, drugs, cells, and organisms, helping them investigate biological systems and understand how they are disrupted by disease. NRNB builds on the Cytoscape cyberinfrastructure, a widely used platform for network analysis, and develops technologies for network-based visualization, analysis, and biomedical discovery.

Its resources include Cytoscape and its App Store, Cytoscape.js, cBioPortal, GeneMANIA, NDEx, Enrichment Map, WikiPathways, and other specialized tools. Research projects explore applications such as analyzing molecular networks, organizing biological knowledge, and identifying meaningful groups of cancer patients from mutation data. NRNB also provides tutorials, courses, workshops, training events, and help-desk assistance, and invites researchers and developers to collaborate on projects and services. The resource reported more than 100 collaboration and service projects. NRNB was an NIH Biomedical Technology Research Center supported by NIGMS from 2011 through 2025.
