## Description

The Historical Model Railway Society (HMRS) is a distinguished organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of Britain's railways. Established in 1950, the society serves historians, modellers, and railway enthusiasts alike, offering an extensive array of resources such as over 300,000 engineering drawings and 200,000 photographs.

As an active educational charity, HMRS provides a wealth of information on railway history, from the early 1800s to the present, making these resources accessible for research and modelling purposes. The society operates a permanent Museum and Study Centre in Swanwick Junction, Derbyshire, where visitors can explore extensive collections. HMRS also runs local area groups and forums encouraging community engagement among members.

In addition to historical resources, HMRS offers products for modelers, including photographs, drawings, and books for sale. Through collaborations with other railway societies and public museums, HMRS supports the growth of railway heritage knowledge and education, making it a pivotal institution in celebrating Britain's railway legacy.
