## Description

Hochschulkompass is an information service of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK), designed to help people explore higher education and doctoral opportunities in Germany. Its information comes directly from universities, which enter and update their own listings, providing current details about institutions and their offerings. The site features a search covering around 21,000 degree programmes, with filters for subject, qualification, study format, admission requirements, location, institution type and other criteria. Users can also search for universities and doctoral opportunities, including programmes with options such as studying in English or pursuing a doctorate with a bachelor’s degree. Beyond its search tools, Hochschulkompass offers guidance on choosing a course, applying and understanding study requirements and formats. Its free Study Interest Test (SIT) supports pupils exploring their options; it takes about 15 minutes and provides an assessment and a list of suitable programmes. The service also includes a study-place exchange, university profiles and information and advice for prospective doctoral candidates.
