## Description

Hodový výbor Soběšice is a community organization dedicated to preserving and celebrating the local traditions of Soběšice, a district of Brno, Czech Republic. Its central activity is organizing the village’s traditional St. Wenceslas festivities, known as Soběšické hody, with support from local residents, volunteers and cultural groups. The celebrations feature a costumed procession, folk singing and dancing, a decorated maypole, children’s performances and social gatherings accompanied by traditional music. The committee also helps sustain the revived Kateřinské babské hody, a separate celebration in which local women perform in traditional costumes. These festivities were renewed in 2019 after a long pause. Alongside its annual traditional events, the organization promotes community life through seasonal occasions such as summer evenings and themed parties, sometimes in collaboration with local partners. Its website shares event announcements, photo galleries and information about the history and customs of Soběšice. Through its activities, Hodový výbor Soběšice connects generations and keeps local folk culture and community traditions visible and active.
