## Description

Narrenzunft Höllteufel Reichenbach 1971 e.V. is a carnival guild founded to bring more life to Reichenbach’s street festivities. Its origins date to Carnival Sunday in 1970, when the newly elected mayor and head of the local music association, Otto Wußler, discussed the town’s quiet celebrations with musicians Wilhelm Huber and Josef Stern. They agreed that the day needed fresh energy, and interested carnival enthusiasts met at the sports club in January 1971 to establish the guild.

The organization celebrates local Fasent traditions through a distinctive group of figures, including the Höllteufel, Oberteufel and Moospfaff. Its community also includes standard-bearers and a council, reflecting the guild’s organized structure. The guild’s website shares news and event dates, a chronicle of its history, information about its figures and leadership, and downloadable resources. It also features a children’s art competition, helping involve the wider community in its activities. Through its events and traditions, Narrenzunft Höllteufel contributes to the ongoing celebration of carnival in Reichenbach.
