## Description

HoloFood Data Portal is an online resource providing access to data collected and generated by the HoloFood project, a consortium investigating sustainable food production through a hologenomic approach. HoloFood studies how feed additives and novel sustainable feeds affect biomolecular and physiological processes in farmed animals, with the aim of improving production efficiency and understanding interactions between animals and their microbiota.

The portal brings together chicken and salmon samples, analysis summaries, genome catalogues and viral sequence catalogues. Visitors can search accessions, titles, taxonomies and documentation, browse thousands of samples and analyses, and explore genomes assembled from metagenomic samples and predicted viral sequences. An API supports programmatic access, while documentation explains how to use the website, API and datasets archived in supporting databases. The portal also links to project publications, data repositories and help resources.

HoloFood received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 817729. The data portal is coordinated by the University of Copenhagen, with technical support available through its helpdesk.
