## Description

HomoWiki is a comprehensive online platform dedicated to providing valuable information about gay and lesbian life, catering to those curious about a wide range of topics. Launched in September 2006, HomoWiki has grown to feature over 1,675 articles encompassing various categories such as terms and symbols, events and travel, society, culture, health advice, rights, history, and sexuality. The project is maintained by a community of volunteers, with nearly 3,000 registered users contributing to its content.

The platform emphasizes the importance of awareness around issues like HIV and AIDS, and actively celebrates significant LGBTQ+ events like the Christopher Street Day (CSD), which commemorates pivotal moments in LGBTQ+ history. Although the original organizing body, gay-web e.V., dissolved in 2013, HomoWiki continues to thrive under the guidance of its founders. Users interested in contributing can now register with added verification, fostering a safe and respectful environment for sharing knowledge and experiences. HomoWiki invites ongoing support to enhance this vital community resource.
