## Description

Honda Battle of the Bands (HBOB) is a showcase celebrating the music, talent, and culture of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Presented by American Honda, the event brings marching bands together for performances that highlight their distinctive sound, precision, and school spirit. Its 2025 edition featured six bands at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, alongside a live performance by GloRilla and a surprise drumline reunion with Nick Cannon and Orlando Jones. The gathering welcomed HBCU alumni, fans, celebrities, and members of the local community to experience what HBOB calls “BIG BAND ENERGY.”

HBOB also connects celebration with educational opportunity. In partnership with the National College Resources Foundation, its 2025 event included the Black College Expo on the SoFi Stadium campus. More than 20,000 attendees could meet representatives from HBCUs, pursue on-the-spot admissions, and explore scholarship opportunities. The brand extends its storytelling through Drive the Legacy, a four-part docuseries about HBCU marching-band culture, including an episode focused on bands.
