## Description

Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha, known as Nishi Hongwanji, is the official organization of the Hongwanji branch of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. It honors Shinran Shonin as its founder and, under the leadership of its Monshu, shares the teachings of the tradition. The organization aims to help create a society in which people can live with richer hearts, together with others.

Its website introduces Jodo Shinshu, Buddhist teachings, and Shinran, while offering reflections on everyday life, explanations of Buddhist terms, and talks by ministers. It also provides guidance on religious observances and ceremonies, including funerals, memorial services, incense offerings, and home altars. Visitors can find news, public lectures, events, and information about Nishi Hongwanji, regional branches, and local activities.

The organization also supports community engagement, volunteering, fundraising, and disaster relief, and shares reports on these efforts. Additional resources include books, online talks and radio, event information, and practical guidance for temple members and the public. Its services connect people with Buddhist learning, worship, community activities, and support across Japan.
