The Hood Incubator is a brand that is dedicated to achieving cannabis justice and empowering Black communities. They envision a world where all Black individuals have access to choice and self-determination. Their mission is to build a movement for cannabis justice that creates opportunities for Black people to generate wealth, health, political power, and prosperity for themselves and their communities. The brand recognizes the harm caused by centuries of racist policies and practices, starting from chattel slavery through to the drug war. By leveraging the growing legal cannabis industry, The Hood Incubator aims to increase economic stability, reinstate access, and redress the harms caused by these oppressive systems. The Hood Incubator was founded by three Black leaders who shared a vision of community-driven advocacy and business development. They started with a focus on launching a Business Accelerator for survivors of the drug war and subsequently advocated for Oakland's pioneering cannabis equity program. With a dynamic community of Black cannabis users, leaders, and workers, The Hood Incubator is leading the way towards ending the drug war, restoring hope, and creating opportunities for the communities most affected by these injustices.
