Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) is an international team dedicated to humanitarian action and community development through open mapping. Their mission is to provide map data that revolutionizes disaster management, reduces risks, and contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. When a major disaster strikes, HOT volunteers from around the world come together to create open map data that enables disaster responders to reach those in need.

Through projects like Refugee response: South Sudan and Syria and Infectious diseases: Malaria elimination, HOT's global community maps areas that are vulnerable to disasters and lack sufficient data, putting millions of people on the world map. HOT also enables communities, NGOs, international organizations, and government partners to use and contribute to OpenStreetMap for locally-relevant challenges. They provide training, equipment, knowledge exchange, and field projects to support decentralization and innovative technology.

All of HOT's work is done through OpenStreetMap, a community-driven and editable map of the world. HOT works globally to increase the use of OpenStreetMap and build local OpenStreetMap communities.
