## Description

HouStories is a Long Beach-based historical research service dedicated to uncovering the stories behind homes and other local buildings. Founded by Maureen C. Neeley, M.L.I.S., the business helps property owners and community members understand how places have changed over time, who lived or worked in them, and what their histories can reveal. Its research covers privately owned houses, small businesses, commercial properties, and buildings across nearly every part of Long Beach. HouStories offers services including custom house history books, historic landmark and Mills Act assistance, and tours and programs for neighborhoods and other groups. The work reflects an appreciation for the quality, craftsmanship, and architectural character of older buildings, while helping clients connect with the places they care about. HouStories also shares discoveries and local building stories through its blog. Whether a client is curious about a home’s past, exploring historic designation, or seeking an engaging community experience, HouStories provides research and programs to support that interest.
