The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was established in 1960 to promote the game of Cricket in the state. After being granted affiliation by the BCCI in 1984, the association underwent a renaissance under Mr. Anurag Thakur's leadership starting in July 2000. The HPCA embarked on a mission to enhance infrastructure and opportunities for Himachal cricket, culminating in the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in Dharamshala with a seating capacity of 25,000 and modern facilities. In addition to the iconic Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, the HPCA has constructed two more stadiums in Nadaun and Bilaspur. The association has hosted prestigious matches and tournaments, attracting international teams and players. With a focus on development, the HPCA also established cricket academies and achieved notable milestones, elevating Himachal cricket to new heights.
