## Description

The United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) is a tax-exempt, non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the memory and legacy of Confederate ancestors. Established over a century ago, the UDC promotes historical education, benevolence, and patriotism while preserving places and narratives significant to the Confederacy. Located in Richmond, Virginia, the organization emphasizes its commitment to memorial activities, educational resources, and community support, which includes scholarships for the descendants of Confederate soldiers. The UDC is also known for its engaging UDC Magazine, published monthly to inform and entertain its members with historical insights and organizational news. Their Memorial Building, dedicated in 1957, serves as a tribute to the women of the Confederacy who demonstrated unwavering loyalty and resilience. The UDC advocates for respectful dialogue surrounding its symbols and memorials, expressing a firm stance against hate groups and divisiveness. Through its endeavors, the UDC fosters a spirit of remembrance for all Americans to appreciate their ancestors' contributions to the nation's history.
