## Description

The Health Research Board Stroke Clinical Trials Network Ireland (HRB-SCTNI) connects Irish stroke research with global expertise to support the development and evaluation of new treatments. Its aim is to give patients in Ireland access to innovative approaches that may help prevent strokes or improve emergency care and recovery after a stroke. The network provides information about its clinical trials, including the CONVINCE trial, and shares resources such as a statistical analysis plan and frequently asked questions. It also supports collaboration among network members and offers training and education through courses and events.

The network’s project office is based in the UCD Neurovascular Research Unit at the Clinical Research Centre, Mater University Hospital. The unit conducts epidemiological research into stroke frequency, risk and outcomes, as well as imaging studies to improve the identification of people at elevated risk of first or recurrent strokes. This work aims to help identify patients who may benefit from intensive stroke-prevention treatment.
