## Description

The Human Rights Brief (HRB) is a prestigious electronic publication managed by the American University Washington College of Law (AUWCL), established in 1994 under the auspices of the Center for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. The HRB serves as a vital platform for legal analysis and discourse on human rights issues, contributing significantly to global advocacy. With a commitment to excellence in legal writing, it is supported by an eight-person Faculty Advisory Board and staffed by approximately 50 dedicated students who are actively involved in creating and editing content.

The publication features in-depth articles across various regions, including the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North Africa, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Each year, it publishes around 68 articles that address emerging human rights topics. The HRB also engages the broader community through podcasts and symposiums, promoting professional development for its student staff while collaborating with practitioners and scholars worldwide. By fostering a robust dialogue on humanitarian law, the Human Rights Brief continues to uphold its legacy as a critical resource for advocates and academics alike.
