## Description

The Historical Research Group of Sittingbourne (HRGS) is a non-profit organization dedicated to investigating, recording, and promoting the rich history of Sittingbourne and its surrounding areas. Established in 2004 by passionate local volunteer historians, HRGS actively engages the community through research, education, and publication efforts.

At the heart of HRGS is "The Heritage Hub," located in The Forum, Sittingbourne, which showcases extensive research into World War One and archaeological projects. The Hub is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday and features a Research Room with a wealth of local resources, including documents, photographs, and maps.

HRGS also publishes a bi-monthly magazine, "The Archive," contributing to local history knowledge while encouraging community participation through various events, talks, and volunteer opportunities. With over 37,000 volunteer hours clocked in 2022, HRGS underscores the importance of heritage and history in fostering community bonds. Join them to help keep local history alive and accessible for future generations.
