## Description

The Human Space Flight Centre (HSFC), part of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was inaugurated on January 30, 2019, by Dr. K Kasturirangan, a former ISRO Chairman. HSFC is a pivotal institution aimed at advancing India's human spaceflight capabilities, overseeing comprehensive mission planning, and developing engineering systems that ensure crew safety for both short and long-duration missions. The centre focuses on a variety of critical areas, including the creation of the Orbital Module and technologies for Bioastronautics, life support systems, and crew training. Moreover, HSFC is dedicated to basic and applied space sciences, facilitating both human and robotic space exploration, and developing space habitats. As a technology aggregator, HSFC brings together national expertise from various disciplines to foster growth and enhance capabilities in the aerospace sector. Through its initiatives, HSFC is set to play a significant role in shaping the future of human spaceflight and exploration in India.
