Born from the expansion and success of Hub City Farmers Market and its related initiatives, Hub City Roots aims to promote food equity and education through various projects. The organization encompasses the Hub City Farmers Market, Mobile Market, Youth Crew, Seed to Table Program, and potential future endeavors.

Setting itself apart, Hub City Roots offers unique benefits to the community. It is the only organization in the area that allows SNAP users to double their funds for fresh, local, and healthy food through their Double-SNAP program. Additionally, it operates a USDA Farm to School grant for nutritional and agricultural education, making it distinct in the region.

Furthermore, Hub City Roots is the sole market in Spartanburg County that accepts senior vouchers through S. C. DSS.
