About
Description
Hudson Square BID, also known as the Hudson Square District Management Association, is a thriving creative hub located in Manhattan's former Printing District. Since July 2009, the BID has played a crucial role in transforming the area into a vibrant community where imagination and technology converge to redefine creativity. With over 60,000 workers in more than 1,000 businesses, along with a growing residential population and numerous visitors, Hudson Square buzzes with energy and possibilities.
As a Business Improvement District, Hudson Square BID manages a geographic area bounded by Clarkson Street, Canal Street, 6th Avenue, and West Street. Their signature programs include the award-winning Hudson Square Standard, an innovative urban forestry initiative, and Hudson Square is Now, a $27 million public-private partnership with the City of New York that enhances the neighborhood's streetscape. The BID also prioritizes pedestrian safety with their Pedestrian Safety Managers.
Funded primarily through an annual assessment on commercial property, Hudson Square BID's annual budget of $3. 2 million fuels their mission to foster physical, social, and cultural connections that support a thriving community. The BID's ultimate goal is to create an environment where innovation can flourish both inside and outside of businesses.
With a dedicated board and staff, led by President and CEO Samara Karasyk, Hudson Square BID continues to shape and enhance the vibrant character of the neighborhood
