## Description

The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute is leading the Human Connectome Project (HCP), aiming to map the detailed structural and functional neural connections in vivo. Through collaboration with the Laboratory of Neuro Imaging and Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, we employ cutting-edge neuroimaging methods and build an informatics infrastructure to link data to phenomic and genomic information. Our goal is to address fundamental questions about human connectional anatomy and variation. The HCP is a five-year project funded by the NIH, working with two research consortia, providing essential data, imaging protocols, and connectivity analysis tools. We acquire extensive connectomics data to study genetic and behavioral white matter pathways, optimizing methodologies for definitive connectome datasets. Our sophisticated tools and data collection efforts will enhance neuroscience research, offering a valuable resource for understanding the human brain's complex neuroanatomical connections.
