## Description

American Humane is the nation’s oldest humane organization, established in 1877, with a mission dedicated to safeguarding the welfare of animals. Renowned for its "No Animals Were Harmed®" program, which has been protecting approximately 100,000 animal actors annually for over 80 years, the organization ensures ethical treatment in the entertainment industry. This program is recognized as the only industry-sanctioned effort providing oversight for animal safety on more than 1,000 productions each year.

American Humane employs trained Certified Animal Safety Representatives, including veterinarians and animal behavior specialists, who supervise film and television sets worldwide. With rigorous guidelines and protocols set by an advisory committee of animal experts, the organization conducts thorough pre-production consultations and on-set monitoring to maintain the highest standards of care for animal performers. As a trusted authority, American Humane continues to shape the humane treatment of animals in the arts, reflecting its commitment to fostering the bond between humans and animals while ensuring that no harm comes to them during the filmmaking process.
