## Description

Humanities Across Borders (HAB) is an innovative educational cooperation program initiated by the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) in the Netherlands, with generous support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The initiative aims to foster interdisciplinary, humanities-rooted curricula and methodologies at the graduate and postgraduate levels through a collaborative network of universities across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

HAB seeks to empower educational institutions to reclaim their roles within society by engaging in the cultural, social, and ecological dimensions of their environments. The program encourages dialogue among scholars, administrators, and practitioners from various continents, employing diverse strategies for knowledge production and exchange. 

HAB has pioneered multiple approaches, including onsite policy roundtables, graduate schools, and practice-based workshops, alongside which it provides platforms for academia-society dialogue. These include a web-based digital storytelling tool and multilingual resources, ultimately aiming to develop the next generation of narrative researchers and civic-minded pedagogies.
