## Description

Human Maple is an Italian company focused on reducing pollution from discarded cigarette butts through collection, recycling and environmental awareness. Working with businesses, public administrations, municipalities, facility and utility providers, event organisers and citizens, it offers practical solutions tailored to different needs. These include supplying functional, customisable ashtrays; organising nationwide collection and storage of cigarette butts; and providing consulting and awareness initiatives through its Riciccami campaign.

The company describes a process that separates harmful substances and converts cigarette filters into cellulose acetate and recycled fibre, without using water in the material separation stage. The resulting fibre can be used to make insulating padding for textiles and other applications, while partnerships with sustainable businesses support the development of new products from recycled materials. Human Maple also helps organisations promote responsible disposal and pursue more sustainable waste management. By combining collection, processing and education, the company aims to keep public spaces cleaner and turn cigarette-butt waste into a resource within a circular economy.
