## Description

Hummingbird TTS, developed by Preceptis Medical, offers an alternative approach to pediatric ear tube placement. Its FDA-cleared Tympanostomy Tube System enables ENT surgeons to place ear tubes in a medical office, usually within minutes and without general anesthesia. Ear tubes help improve airflow to the middle ear and reduce fluid buildup for children with recurring ear infections.

The Hummingbird procedure is designed to avoid many steps associated with operating-room surgery, including fasting, pre-operative testing and post-operative care. Children can generally return to normal activities immediately, and families may be present during treatment. The company reports that total costs can be up to 65% lower than operating-room approaches, partly by avoiding anesthesia and facility fees; coverage and out-of-pocket costs may vary.

Hummingbird provides resources for parents and physicians, including procedure information, FAQs, clinical evidence, reimbursement support and guidance for providers interested in offering the system. Its website also helps families find a location and learn about treatment options.
