Huunuu is a small start-up brand with a big family feel that is passionate about the wellbeing of individuals and their loved ones. They believe in inspiring choices to create the life story you want to leave behind. With a focus on values and a healthy organization, the team at Huunuu challenges themselves every day to be the best they can be for one another so that they can succeed together.
The brand was founded in July 2014 by Co-Founders Clare and Steve Turner. Clare's personal experiences, including attending multiple funerals and the lack of understanding, communication, and choice surrounding them, sparked the idea for Huunuu. The loss of her step-father in 2010 further reinforced the need for crucial conversations about life and death to happen at a different time.
Clare's mother, Peggy, who passed away in 2021, played an important role in demonstrating that alternative ways to traditional funeral practices are possible and should be celebrated. Huunuu challenges society's taboo surrounding death and aims to change the narrative by encouraging open conversations and sharing among loved ones. They offer a range of services, including a planning tool and an online shop, to help individuals and families navigate end-of-life decisions and commemorate their loved ones in a meaningful way.
The Huunuu team, led by Clare, Cherry, Katie, and Trevyn, is dedicated to exploring new ideas, ensuring exceptional customer experiences, and maintaining a positive and supportive work environment. Located across the UK and Italy, they work collaboratively wherever they need to be, placing great emphasis on communication and collaboration. With their unique approach and heartfelt mission, Huunuu is transforming the way we think about and approach death and remembrance
