About

Description

Hyman Inc. It all began in the 1930s when Joe Hyman, affectionately known as Papa Joe, started a family business in New York City focusing on window treatments. He introduced the first bamboo blinds to the United States and popularized them across the country.

Today, bamboo Roman shades and Venetian blinds remain a cornerstone of their offerings. In the 1950s, the family relocated to Los Angeles and positioned themselves as pioneers in importing products from the Far East for national distribution. They collaborated with DIY and hardware stores, expanding their reach and supplying Venetian blinds to army barracks and Sears.

In 1976, Lewis Hyman, Papa Joe's son, established Lewis Hyman Inc. This move paved the way for sourcing from Taiwan and extensive travels to the Pacific Rim, India, and Europe. With Jim Hyman joining the family business in 1980, their focus shifted towards innovation and national distribution.

The addition of an East Coast office and distribution center in Atlanta, GA in 1986 further fueled their growth as Big Box retailers emerged. Following Lew Hyman's passing in 2006, Jim Hyman became CEO, and the company embarked on a new chapter. Under the new company LH Licensed Products, Inc., they expanded their portfolio by acquiring the Vanish brand for cleaning products and licensing the highly recognized brands of Kathy Ireland and Honeywell.

With a global recognition rate of 93%, the Honeywell brand has played a crucial role in driving their global expansion. As a unified entity under the name Hyman Inc., the company continues to thrive and serve customers worldwide. Their product portfolio extends beyond window coverings to include safes, door locks, shelving, pet and laundry care, paper shredders, and garden products.

With offices in various locations, including California, Georgia, and Shanghai, they cater to a diverse customer base in over 70 countries. Hyman Inc
