About
Description
Hypoxia Lab is an independent clinical trials laboratory specializing in testing pulse oximeters for FDA approval. With over 40 years of experience, we provide guidance to manufacturers on the best testing parameters to achieve regulatory approval from the FDA. Founded in 1958, Hypoxia Lab is a leading center for the study of the effects of hypoxia on humans.
Our research focuses on oxygen transport, oxygen measurement, and high-altitude physiology. We are actively involved in evaluating the accuracy of pulse oximetry and provide accuracy testing for pulse oximeters and related devices for the industry. As a completely independent university-based testing facility, we have no ties to pulse oximeter manufacturers.
In addition, we are committed to improving access to accurate oximeters, especially in resource-denied settings, and will soon be launching OpenOximetry. org. Our team of esteemed professionals, including Dr.
John W. Severinghaus, the founder of the UCSF Hypoxia Research Laboratory, and Dr. Philip E.
Bickler, director of the Hypoxia Research Laboratory, is dedicated to advancing the understanding of hypoxia and high-altitude medicine. We also have experts in neuroscience, anesthesia, and research coordination who contribute to our diverse range of studies. Partner with Hypoxia Lab for reliable and comprehensive pulse oximetry testing and contribute to the advancement of hypoxia research.
