## Description

IACAPAP, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, is a not-for-profit organization based in Switzerland and recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO). With a rich history dating back to 1937, IACAPAP was established by a group of European psychiatrists who aimed to foster connections in the field of child psychiatry. Over the years, it has grown into a global organization with members from all over the world. IACAPAP is dedicated to promoting mental health and development in children and adolescents through policy, practice, training, and research. The organization offers a range of programs and services to achieve this mission. These include bi-annual world congresses, a freely accessible e-textbook, a massively online open course (MOOC), and two early career development programs, namely the Donald J Cohen Fellowship and the Helmut Remschmidt Research Seminars. They also produce position statements, publish papers and monographs, and maintain an official scientific journal, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Mental Health (CAPMH). Through these initiatives and more, IACAPAP strives to strengthen global bonds, foster multidisciplinary research and clinical practice, and advocate for evidence-based mental health services for children and adolescents. With its diverse membership and wide-ranging programs, IACAPAP is at the forefront of advancing child and adolescent psychiatry worldwide.
