IL Family Physicians is a professional medical society dedicated to maintaining high standards of family medicine. Founded in 1947, the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians (IAFP) represents nearly 5,000 family physicians, residents, and medical students. As a constituent chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), IAFP provides opportunities for member engagement and interaction, advocacy through all levels of government, and continuing medical education (CME) programming.

They support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all forms and strive to integrate the biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences into their practice. Offering comprehensive healthcare for individuals and families, family medicine is their specialized field of expertise that encompasses all ages, sexes, organ systems, and disease entities.
