## Description

The International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) is an independent global organisation founded in 1935. It brings together engineers and water specialists working in hydro-environmental sciences and their practical applications. With individual and institutional members across more than 200 countries, IAHR connects professionals through regional divisions, technical committees, national chapters and young professionals networks.

IAHR supports the water and hydraulics community with international congresses, regional events, conferences, webinars and training courses. Its programme includes opportunities for early-career professionals, as well as online learning on topics such as artificial intelligence tools for transient flow analysis. The association also recognises achievement through awards and distinctions, and provides resources including technical guides, laws and guidelines, and a document and video library.

Its publications include the Journal of Hydraulic Research, journals on river basin management, applied water engineering and ecohydraulics, books, conference proceedings, reports and the IAHR Water Monograph series. Through these services and communities, IAHR promotes research, professional exchange and the application of knowledge across water-related fields.
